New Member Showcase: Graham!

Meet Graham! One of Space Gang’s co-founders, Graham is passionate about life, people and learning.

How have you found being part of get2gether?

It’s been amazing! My mum was part of get2gether before she passed away and I decided it would be really nice to join and continue her legacy. I met Ambassador Andrew through my mum and through Thistle as well. There was a sense of community that I wanted to continue.

Which projects are you involved in?

I like music too, being a DJ, I really enjoy the nights in and out. I like seeing people enjoying each other’s company. I like the mindfulness sessions with Steve and I really enjoyed the Live your Life course. It’s great learning to relax, de-stress and cope with problem scenarios in life. But my main passion is Space! I’ve loved creating Space Gang and working with members to talk about their interests around planets, galaxies, technology and rockets!

What have you been working towards?

More confidence! Mindfulness and LYL are great for building my confidence and meeting like minded people. Working with different people has been really great too and opened my eyes to possibilities. I presented the ‘new members’ workshop during the summer and I would like to do some quiz hosting, this is in the pipeline. I’ve been doing a lot of networking with astronomers, conducting interviews and coordinating future sessions as I’d really like Space Gang to keep growing. 

What does the future hold?

Meeting people in person is something I would like to go back to but I know it’s going to take some work on my part as I’ve lost my confidence in both being outside and speaking to people. Travelling seems daunting. I’m looking at programmes to rebuild my confidence and Live Your Life has been helping too. 

What advice do you have for new members? 

To do all the courses and get as involved as possible! It helps you meet new people and build up your confidence! New members can see the support is there for them and they have options. 

There are so many great things going on, I feel so grateful for get2gether.
