Origins The Gin Festival

The OriGINs” Festival was a lively, happy and definitely a night to remember…I think!!?!

I have to just point out that I didn’t go as a get2gether staff member and so I was allowed to let my hair down, but I wanted to blog about the experience because I got such good customer service and I think when things go well we should shout about it and give a big shout out to those who go the extra mile.

Gin has become very popular in recent years, appealing to a much younger audience with its much more affordable price and larger variety of combinations of flavours and mixers.

As a gin fan, I couldn’t miss an opportunity to try some new combinations for myself so I went along to the festival which was held over Friday and Saturday evenings at the end of March at the Old Biscuit factory, at Anderson Place, which is now Edinburgh gin’s second home in Edinburgh.

Included as part of the ticket price, you could have master classes on how to get the perfect gin, and be taken through the steps and tricks of the trade by visiting the distillery which was very interesting and something I had never done before. It was all part of a unique experience which involved enjoying a night of live music and sampling the stalls from all across Scotland.

I did have a few favourite, notably the rhubarb crumble Gin. It was “Scummy-yummy”.

I wanted to say a big thank you to the organisers who made me feel very welcome and even brought some of their master class to the lower level as there was no lift, but didn’t want me to miss out on the experience and went out of their way to make sure that I got everything I paid for, just like everyone else. It felt like they couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone was having a good time.  They were very friendly and accommodating and couldn’t have done more to include me and my friends.  I would definitely recommend this event next year and if you like a nice tipple then check it out- you won’t be disappointed.

And as I know some of our get2gether members like a drink I think we should check this out next time round.  Check out the website if you want to know more https://trueoriginsco.com/
